In 2012, The Photographers' Gallery launched a Mentoring Programme, which was awarded to twelve selected finalists of FreshFaced+WildEyed 2012 and FreshFaced+WildEyes 2013.

Each mentorship awardee has been carefully matched with a mentor whose professional/creative background is relevant to their work. The mentor and graduate enter into a yearlong dialogue, which offers the participants invaluable feedback on their current work and the broader professional and critical context into which it fits. During the mentoring period mentors and mentees meet at least quarterly for a sustained and cumulative discussion, allowing mentees to draw on the creative and professional experiences of the mentor in order to further develop their practice.
